1. Scope and publisher
FoundBound Image Vault is a browser extension published by Qantara under the FoundBound brand. It is designed to help users sync, organise and download image assets available in their own signed-in ChatGPT Images/Library.
FoundBound Image Vault is independently developed software and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI.
2. Information the extension accesses
To provide the archive features you request, the extension can access information made available to your signed-in account on chatgpt.com.
Image Library titles, identifiers, image dimensions, asset metadata, image URLs and other Library records needed to identify and download the image assets you request.
Temporary session-bound request context needed to make Library requests using your existing signed-in browser session. The extension does not request or store your ChatGPT password.
Limited network monitoring on chatgpt.com is used to detect the specific ChatGPT Library request required to establish the session context for the extension's user-facing archive feature.
Settings, saved sync cursor, Library IDs/titles, queue state, retry status, download history and archive metadata are stored locally in extension storage.
The extension is not designed to collect general web browsing history, precise location, health information, financial/payment information or personal communications.
3. How information is used
Information accessed by FoundBound Image Vault is used only to provide its single user-facing purpose: controlled syncing and local archiving of images from the user's own signed-in ChatGPT Images/Library.
- controlled Library sync, including stop/resume and date or quantity limits;
- incremental/new-only indexing;
- resolving available original image assets and useful Library filenames;
- download queue, retry and resume management;
- local archive history, health and status information;
- user-requested JSON/CSV metadata exports; and
- saving image files selected or queued by the user.
4. Local and session storage
Persistent settings and archive information are stored locally in browser extension storage on the user's device. This can include settings, Library IDs and titles, archive metadata, the saved sync cursor, queue state, retry state and download history.
Downloaded images are saved through the browser Downloads API to the user's normal browser download location or chosen folder. Image bytes are not uploaded to a FoundBound/Qantara server by the extension.
5. Authentication information
FoundBound Image Vault uses the user's existing signed-in ChatGPT browser session. Temporary request metadata needed for that session may include authorization-related request headers.
- The extension does not request or store the user's ChatGPT password.
- Browser cookies are not copied into the extension's persistent archive data.
- Session request metadata is kept in browser-session storage or memory rather than the persistent archive index.
- Authentication request metadata is not included in JSON or CSV metadata exports.
- Authentication information is not sent to FoundBound/Qantara-operated servers.
6. User activity and limited network monitoring
The extension uses browser web-request functionality only on chatgpt.com to observe the specific Library request needed for its archive feature. It does not monitor browsing activity across unrelated websites, build a general browsing-history profile, inject advertising, or sell browsing activity.
8. Browser permissions
| Permission | Why FoundBound Image Vault uses it |
|---|---|
| downloads | Save user-requested images and JSON/CSV exports; monitor completion; retry/cancel jobs; remove invalid failed downloads. |
| storage | Store local settings, archive history, Library index, queue state and sync cursor. |
| scripting | Run packaged FoundBound code in the user's existing chatgpt.com tab so the extension can perform the requested same-origin Library operation. |
| webRequest | Observe the specific ChatGPT Library request needed to establish the signed-in session context. The extension does not use this permission to block or modify unrelated traffic. |
| unlimitedStorage | Support large local Library indexes and archive history without storing downloaded image files inside extension storage. |
| chatgpt.com host access | Access is limited to the supported ChatGPT website required for Library sync and image archiving. |
9. User controls
Users can stop or resume Library sync, pause or stop downloads, retry failed items, clear the current queue, export metadata, and uninstall the extension through normal browser controls. Downloaded files remain under the user's control in their filesystem.
10. Data retention and deletion
Persistent extension settings, Library index and archive history remain locally on the user's device until the user clears extension data or removes the extension. Session authentication/request metadata is intended to expire with the browser session.
Uninstalling the extension removes extension-managed browser storage according to the browser's normal extension-data behaviour. Files already downloaded to the user's filesystem are not deleted automatically.
11. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
FoundBound/Qantara does not use or transfer extension user data for purposes unrelated to FoundBound Image Vault's single purpose, does not sell extension user data, and does not use extension user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
12. Children
FoundBound Image Vault is not designed as a service directed to children and does not operate its own extension user-account or advertising service.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when FoundBound Image Vault materially changes its data access, storage, sharing, analytics, authentication or external-service behaviour. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published.
